The Foundation Diploma in Business Studies has been developed by London School of Business and Finance as an initial qualification for students who have completed their O-Level and/or high school education, and are aiming to embark on a career in the business industry, and/or for students aiming for a Higher Education qualification in a subject allied to Management.
The aim of the Foundation Diploma in Business Studies is to give students the best possible preparation to commence a career in one of a wide range of industries and prepare students for further study. Graduates of the course will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the basic underlying academic concepts and principles associated with the broader discipline of Management.
The aims to provide students with:
- The eligibility to progress into the Diploma program.
- An understanding of basic theories and concepts of the subject area, and the ability to communicate these accurately to a range of peers.
- Gain skills that can be used in a wide range of situations and contexts.
Whilst the Foundation Diploma in Business Studies may be a first step towards obtaining the Diploma in Business Studies, holders of the Foundation Diploma will be equipped to enter employment in a role requiring some personal responsibility but within a mainly supervised context.
On successful completion of this program, students should be able to:
- Have a foundation for understanding contemporary business issues;
- Describe the basic concepts in management;
- Develop skills to analyze real-world business issues;
- Demonstrate enhanced capability in analytical, diagnostic, investigative and writing skills.
- Develop a beginning sense of business acumen
- Enable basic business awareness when managing issues in the real world.
