MANAGEMENT WITH HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT | BSc (Hons)

About Program

About This Course

People are the most important asset of any thriving organisation and the effective management of human resources is key to any successful business. This has led to an increase in human resource management (HRM) jobs both in the UK and around the world. This course helps to develop a knowledge of business and management and an understanding of the strategic role HR plays in organisations. You will develop your skills through real projects, field trips and interactive workshops. Study how organisations can generate sustainable value through the effective management of people on this career-focused course.

Management of people is one the most important things for organisations to get right. People are an organisation’s most important asset and yet they can be the biggest source of problems. This degree will develop your skills and knowledge in two connected areas; general management and the strategic and practical management of human resources.

You will be part of a thriving community of students in the Business School, with opportunities for work experience and extra-curricular activities that support personal development. The School has a number of active societies and gives all students the chance to take part in national business competitions.

Why choose Bangor University for this course?

  • Real world experience of human resource management, ensuring you are equipped to make an immediate impact to allow a better understanding of the role of HRM in the organisation.
  • Develop HR competence such as managing change, employment relations, motivation and leadership skills in a Business and Management context.
  • Our enthusiastic staff will offer insight into how organisations develop positive working cultures and respond proactively and creatively to contemporary business issues and challenges.

Course Content

The degree consists of a mix of modules, some of which span several degree subjects, while others are more specialised. So you will meet students from across the School, while getting to know those on your degree very well. Some management modules will involve a mix of lectures, with online supporting materials, interactive workshops and classes. Others will provide the opportunity to prepare for work experience, to work closely with business on live projects and to undertake field trips.

Assessments will include course-work and examinations. You can expect to do some group work- this is a key aspect of preparing you for your working lives.

This degree will bring together the academic theories of people management and the application of these to real world examples.
