Our BSc (Hons) Mental Health and Wellbeing Coaching course will enable you to develop the skills you need to pursue a successful career working as a qualified wellbeing coach.

After Year 1, you'll progress onto the coaching pathway, where you’ll undertake your placement. You'll also complete modules to prepare you to work as a qualified wellbeing coach.
If you're interested in working in the helping professions from a therapeutic and coaching perspective this course is for you. You'll examine issues in the field of wellbeing coaching and includes a focus on public mental health and social prescribing for all students. The uniqueness of this course allows you to build on your strengths, of how you work with people.

Future careers in wellbeing coaching
This course will prepare you to become a professional practitioner in the field of mental health and wellbeing coaching.
This degree will enable you to work in a variety of settings with adults, young people and children.
Our third year students have been on placements with organisations such as Mind, the mental health charity, and those offering services for adults, children and young people. They’ve also worked with the Silverline Helpline, a telephone service for older people, and NCompass, a charity based in the North West which helps people to regain control of their lives. All these experiences have given our students the best possible preparation for their future careers. You'll have similar opportunities to gain valuable work experience on placement before you graduate.
Once you’ve qualified, your coaching skills will be in demand across a wide range of sectors and organisations. These include:

- Charities
- HR departments
- Private practice/life coaching
- The health and leisure industry
- Corporate training companies
- Schools, colleges and universities
After graduation you could opt for further study to gain additional qualifications in specific areas of coaching and other talking therapies, such as an MSc and PhD in coaching psychology, cognitive behavioural psychotherapy, positive psychology, or leadership studies.
