On our Policing, Law Enforcement and Investigation university course, you'll explore a range of subjects. From crime scene investigation and criminal law to cybercrime and homicide investigation. Plus, a wide range of ethical and political issues.

Criminal investigation and policing studies allows you to build the skills and experience needed to pursue a career in policing or the wider field of investigation. Whether you’re aiming to join the leading ranks or become an expert in a specialist area of investigation.
Get to grips with the practical skills you'll need by learning in our forensic lab, crime scene houses and a simulated control room suite. We also work with Lancashire Constabulary so you have the opportunity to gain real-life experience. This enables you to volunteer as a Special Constable (on your own time) or shadow an investigator.
In your second year, you could study abroad at a university in Europe, United States, Canada or Australia. Or even spend a semester at a police academy in Poland, Hungary or the Czech Republic. This is an opportunity to gain valuable life skills while showing potential employers that you have both maturity and self-sufficiency.
When you graduate, you should be ready to pursue a career in your local constabulary, a law enforcement agency or national security agency. You’ll also have the transferable skills to look elsewhere. From the military to business, as well as the academic foundation for study at a postgraduate level.
