European Studies

Explore European society and culture from a multi-disciplinary perspective. European studies students enjoy learning about and discussing Europe's distinctive history, cultures, economies, and fine arts.

The European studies degree program is a flexible, interdisciplinary program for majors and minors who are interested in all things European, drawing upon Webster University's strengths in both the liberal arts and professional schools. Students also have the opportunity to study at one or more of Webster's European campuses. Alongside their rigorous academic training, European Studies majors will meet and learn from European leaders in government, business, media, and the arts.

Graduates of this program demonstrate a broad knowledge of European affairs. They are well equipped for international careers in business, the arts, and government service, or for graduate study in a range of professional and liberal arts fields.

Points of Distinction

• Because the European studies program is housed in a combined department, European studies students get exposure to relevant work in history, political science, international relations and human rights.
• Students may pursue an internship in Europe.
• Classes are small and discussion-oriented.
• Students are individually mentored by their professors and advisors throughout their study.
