Having the right financial tools and methodologies are of crucial importance for both small and large businesses.
Webster University’s Bachelor of Science in Finance degree program prepares our students to meet the growing demand for finance professionals by imparting crucial knowledge and skills in important areas such as raising capital, making investments, and understanding the financial markets in which businesses operate. In addition to completing the core business curriculum requirements, students majoring in finance will study the three general areas of finance: corporate finance, investments, and financial institutions and markets. After completion of the finance core, students have choices to tailor their program according to their interest and career outlook.
Finance students who want to take advance certification, including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP), can take advanced courses in Investments and Portfolio management, while others may focus on Entrepreneurial Finance, Capital Budgeting, or International Finance.
Internships
Our students have completed internships at a variety of companies such as US Bank, Mastercard, Regions Financial Corporation, Wells Fargo, and Edward Jones. Students have the opportunity to meet with some of these companies and many more at the annual Walker School Internship Fair in the spring.
