About the Course

This BA (Hons) Psychology course introduces you to the psychological theories that explain human thoughts, emotions and behaviour. It also explores how professionals use psychological theories and evidence-based practice to make a difference in people’s lives.

The course shows how applying psychological knowledge can help us better understand and explain human behaviour. You learn about the key approaches - cognitive, social, developmental, biological, individual-differences psychology – as well as investigating psychological theories; historical and conceptual issues, and the ethical implications of such issues; and research methods.

I joined the university in 1998 as a technician. As Lab Manager for the School of Psychology I completed my PhD, before moving on to a lecturing position.
