Our Clinical Dental Technology degree is a unique and innovative clinical dental technology course, which will allow you to train as you will practice in the future, as part of the whole dental team.
The course gives you the opportunity to train as a clinical dental technician who can work within dental technology and primary care dentistry. Primary care dentistry is delivered by the whole dental team, of which clinical dental technicians are an increasingly important part.
The structure of the course is exciting and innovative in that our BSc Clinical Dental Technology, BSc Dental Therapy and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses share common modules. Both Clinical Dental Technician students and BDS students will learn clinical, technical and professional skills together during the course.

Course delivery
Following the pandemic, we have found that some courses benefit from a blended learning and teaching approach. Therefore, the majority of your teaching will be face-to-face on campus aside from a small amount of online teaching where we have learnt it works best.

Future careers
On completion of the course, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the General Dental Council *subject to GDC approval
and work in dentistry as a Dental Care Professional. You could work as a Dental Technician or a Clinical Dental Technician.
Graduates who gain a 2:1 degree may also be eligible to apply for entry into the Graduate BDS course available at this University.
