Course description
- There's never been a better time to make supply chain and logistics an integral part of your business management degree. As the business world grapples with the growth of e-commerce, the aftermath of Brexit, and the complexity of international supply chains, these skills are now in high demand.
- This degree is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), which means you gain an extra professional qualification for no extra work, get access to experienced business mentors, and move one step closer to Chartered Manager status.
- Your learning will be practical and regularly bring you into contact with employers, through work placements and internships, consultancy projects and fieldtrips.
- Your tutors are also conducting ground-breaking research into areas such as lean-green logistics, artificial intelligence, and sustainable business, and will bring this latest thinking into their teaching.
- You can choose to take a placement year between years two and three, to build your experience and boost your career prospects
How you will learn
We take a ‘scaffolded’ approach to learning, which means that you’ll have full support in the early stages of the degree but will gradually move towards greater independence as your knowledge deepens and you start to immerse yourself in the wider business community. By stage three, you will be able to take greater charge of your own learning, with module tutors advising and directing your studies.
Thanks to your contact with personal tutors, engagement with CMI mentors and participation in University events, you’ll become more attuned to professional behaviour and build your skills in critical thinking, creativity and self-reliance.
We're also committed to helping you become a responsible business leader with a strong moral compass. Therefore throughout the course, you will look at the role of business in wider society, exploring issues ranging from environmental sustainability to child labour, ethical governance and responsible innovation.
You’ll learn through different methods including:
- formal lectures, sometimes involving guest speakers
- tutor-led and student-led seminars
- one-to-one and small group tutorials
- work experience projects
- work-related learning
- self-directed study
- optional placement and internship opportunities
- video discussions with overseas partner institutions.
How you are assessed
You will mainly be assessed by coursework, which could include:
- traditional essays and reports
- group project work
- research and consultancy projects
- presentations
- posters
- design of digital materials
- in-class tests
- computer-based assessments.
Personal academic tutoring
Your personal academic tutor will work with you to help you get the most out of your time at university. Having someone to talk to about your academic progress, your university experience and your professional aspirations is hugely valuable. We want you to feel challenged in your studies, stretched but confident to achieve your academic and professional goals.

My name is Kavisha Prince Anthony, and I always had a dream of studying abroad. Thankfully, that dream came to life since I applied to the Study Advisor. I was able to receive my visa within four days. I also had some visa refusals in the past; I had about six UK visa refusals in the past, but thankfully, it was not an issue since the Study Advisor was able to make things work this time. I highly recommend Study Advisor for your dreams of going abroad, whether it be the UK or any other European country there is.
