Programmer Objectives
The overall aims of the programmer are to:
- Produce graduates who possess a rounded knowledge and understanding of electrical and electronic engineering and the skills to analyse complex problems appropriate to the discipline
- Produce graduates with an enthusiasm for electrical and electronic engineering, an appreciation of its application in different contexts and to involve them in an intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning and studying
- Produce graduates with the ability to apply their knowledge and understanding in order to be competitive and creative
- Produce graduates with the ability to apply a variety of methods and skills in the investigation and solution of real electrical and electronic engineering problems
- Produce graduates with the qualities and skills for employ ability, enabling them to either pursue programmers of further study or to move directly into their chosen employment in industry and manage their own continuous professional development

- International: Non-tuition fees for full-time programmers include MDIS membership entrance fee, membership subscription fees, MDIS experience workshop, academic writing workshop, medical insurance, medical examination and administrative fee.

Entry Requirements
All applicants must be of age 18 and above, and must obtain one of the following requirements:
- Relevant polytechnic diplomas in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2 OR
- Relevant overseas polytechnic diplomas in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2, with 10 years of formal education OR
- Relevant PEI qualifications in electrical engineering related fields with a good pass (55% and above), equivalent to Year 1 and Year 2, with 12 years of formal education OR
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in fields of electrical engineering OR
- Mature candidates who possess other qualifications should be 30 years old and above with at least 8 years of relevant working experience

English Language Requirements
The applicant is required to achieve one of the following:
- C6 in English at GCE 'O' level OR
- IELTS 6.0 (with no elements lower than 5.5) OR
- MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE) OR
- Pass MDIS English Placement Test OR
- Equivalent
