The programme is to introduce the key principles of construction management and project supervision, incorporating sound planning and estimating, site organisation, management of equipment and materials, human resource management and a series of legal and contractual considerations.
The main objective of the programme is to develop competent construction managers who will have the skills to effectively manage projects in the construction market.

CONTENT
- Construction Practice
To introduce students to the procedures required for the successful planning and management of construction projects from pre-tender stage until completion.
- Construction Technology
To provide the student with a basic knowledge of every aspect of the technology of domestic low-rise construction as well the understanding of modern method of construction, and materials of construction for more complex multi-storey construction/larger framed industrial and commercial building using more modern industrialised techniques.
- Construction Contracts
To provide an overview of the principles of contract laws and how they are reflected in the construction industry’s contracting practices.
- Procurement
To provide an overview of the principles and methods of construction project procurement.
- Facilities Management Principles
To provide the student with an overview of facilities management practice in the UK, Europe and other parts of the world and to raise the awareness of the scope and context of the Facilities Management role.
- R.C. Construction & Steel Construction
To introduce students to the fundamental of building construction practices and building materials. and emphasizes the basis of the structural systems, construction materials and detailed finishing operations required to make a serviceable structure.
- Management in the Built Environment
To understand the concept and principles of management in the built environment.
- Advanced Construction Technology and Services
To provide an overview on the construction techniques of framed multi-storey buildings as well the technology of building services installations.
- Sustainable Design and Construction
To introduce the background, concepts and principles of sustainability within the Construction Industry.
- Construction Site Management
To introduce students to the procedures involved in providing the temporary facilities on site, the detailed provision for access and the selection and management of plant from pre-tender stage until completion.
ASSESSMENT/WRITTEN EXAMINATIONS
- Exams are conducted at the end of each module.
- There are 10 exam modules.
PROGRESSION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 90% attendance for student pass holders is required and 75% attendance is required for non-student pass holders
- Minimum mark of 40% is required to pass each module
