About Program

the digital economy has forever changed the way we build. With the need for an increased measure of safety to be in place. Building projects are only set to become more complex in achieving profitability and timeliness. Building Information
Modelling (BIM) has become an important tool to help building professionals meet the project milestones.
THROUGH THIS COURSE, ONE CAN EXPECT TO:
  • To equip industry personnel with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out junior to middle management roles in BIM related responsibilities.
  • To bridge the knowledge gap of construction personnel who are not cognizant of the development and use of BIM in the construction industry.
PROGRAMME CONTENT
  • Construction Technology
    • To understand the basic elements of Development Process, Site Investigation, Construction Process and Excavation, Superstructure and Formwork, Floors and Roofs, Stairs, Windows, Finishes and Fittings, and Walls and Partitions
    • Able to explain the different types of foundations that can be used in the construction industry and conditions for use
    • To explain the conventional methods of on-site construction
    • To demonstrate detailed knowledge of modern construction technology and its application to the fundamentals of larger frame structure and domestic buildings
  • Procurement
    • To understand the purpose of a construction project’s ‘procurement route’
    • To appreciate the wide variety of organisation types that must work together well to deliver a successful construction project
    • To understand typical roles and responsibilities of key organisation during the post contract (i.e. mainly during site activity after award of the tender) project phase
    • To appreciate the objectives and requirements of varying categories and types of clients
    • To understand the advantages and disadvantages of the different procurement methods and their applications
    • To identify the key steps required to ensure a successful construction project
