The university’s fully accredited medical programmer, running since 2005, has produced over 977 doctors. The MBBS programmer provides an impact and excellent education and training in medicine. It uses a student-centered and problem-based approach to learning which should apply throughout the physician’s career.
The 5-year programmer is divided into two phases namely the Basic Medical Sciences phase (Years 1-2) and Clinical Sciences phase (Year 3-5). The first two years, taught mainly in the Cyberjaya campus, serve as a foundation for basic medical knowledge and is organised in sequential courses/blocks with early clinical exposure.
Students must successfully complete the Basic Medical Sciences phase prior to beginning clinical clerkships. From the third year, theoretical training is extended with clinical practice, where students learn in the various hospitals and health centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defence. Successful graduates are granted a Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, fully recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council.

The MBBS programmer aims to produce doctors who are:

MBBS PROGRAMMER LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the undergraduate training, a UoC medical graduate is able to demonstrate adequate knowledge (cognitive), skills (psychomotor) and appropriate professional attributes (effective) in the following aspects;
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All applicants who enter a matriculation, foundation or pre-medical programmer, except those with a degree qualification in arts and humanities, shall have passed and attained a minimum of the following at School Certificate level or its equivalent:
Examinations Requirement
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM); or Minimum of 5Bs each in
General Certificate of Education Ordinary (“O”)
Biology; and
Chemistry; and Physics; and
Mathematics or Additional Mathematics; and another subject
AND the following
b) Higher School Certificate level or its equivalent:
Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM); or Grade BBB, ABC or AAC in three subjects i.e.
General Certificate of Education Advanced (“A”) levels Physics or Mathematics / Biology; and Chemistry; and
Unified Examination Certificate (UEC)
Obtain B4 in 5 of the following subjects:
Biology / Chemistry / Physics / Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
Advanced Mathematics I /
Advanced Mathematics II
Matriculation, Foundation in Science or Pre-
GPA 3.00 (out of 4.00) in three subjects i.e.
Medical course Biology; and Chemistry; and Physics or Mathematics
And provided the course is not less than one (1) year in the same accredited
institution and the minimum entry qualification is 5Bs each in:
Biology; and / Chemistry; and / Physics or Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics);
and Another subject at School Certificate level or its equivalent
OR
c) Diploma level
Diploma in Health Sciences
CGPA 3.50 (out of 4.00) and provided the course is not less than five (5) semesters or
2 ½ years in the same accredited institution and the minimum entry qualification is
2Bs each in Biology; and/or Chemistry; and/or Physics; and 3 Credits each in English; and Mathematics (or Additional Mathematics); and Another subject at School
Certificate level or its equivalent.
