The Master of Science Healthcare Management programmer is designed to offer the opportunity for experienced practitioners and others interested in healthcare management to focus on practices, policies and drivers and their impact on the management of the healthcare sector.

In addition, they will develop critical analysis and evaluation skills that will help them create new and innovative approaches to practice by critically reflecting on contemporary healthcare management issues.

The programme enables students to consider the implications of their learning, inquiry for policy and practice and evaluation of complex issues by providing contemporary knowledge of theory, research and professional practice related to strategic healthcare management, social marketing, leadership and collaborative working. They will be encouraged to think independently, understand and justify their own opinions, and recognize the need to challenge their thinking, and the thinking of others throughout the programmer. They will also be encouraged to conceptualize, theories and develop research, which addresses complex issues by the completion of a dissertation.

Through independent learning, they will develop the qualities and transferable skills necessary for employment such as initiative, personal responsibility, problem solving, team working and planning.
