This programme aims to help students to take advantage of these graduate jobs by providing them with a solid understanding of the industry, the opportunity to pursue work experience and the chance to engage with specific areas of finance that interest them. Students on the BA (Hons) Accountancy and Finance course study intensively, looking at both national and international markets to ensure a firm understanding of the global economy.
The curriculum itself is partly based around first hand advice and real life examples of working in the industry. Not only does this better prepare students for their working life, it also ensures that staff and students are keeping up to date with the latest developments in this fast moving industry.
Our accrediting institutions can provide students with support and guidance both during and after their degree. This support has helped past students to secure year-long work placements, which every students is given the opportunity to undertake between the second and third years of their degree.

INDUSTRY LINKS
Many of the teaching staff have professional experience in accountancy and the financial sector. This ensures that study units reflect current developments in the industry. The curriculum looks at both the national and the international finance industry, keeping students up to date with the global economy and giving them the option of pursuing a career abroad after graduation.
You’ll also have access to professional guest speakers, links with local employers, live assessment briefs and an optional placement between years two and three, giving you a chance to get practical hands-on experience and develop valuable professional connections.
In previous years, the accountancy and finance course team have used their connections with practising professionals to arrange live briefs, guest lectures and work experience placements.
