Do you have a passion for programming? Want to study a degree that can lead to a varied career in the IT industry? Solent’s British Computer Society (BCS) accredited software engineering programme teaches you how to apply proper engineering techniques to software development projects, building effective software products for desktops and mobile devices.
The hands-on software engineering programme supports students as they develop a valuable combination of software engineering competency and general business and employability skills. Graduates will be proficient in a range of technologies including Java, Android, Oracle SQL, PHP, Web API’s, JSON, HTML5, jQuery and big data analytics.
Students learn from an academic team with extensive experience in business computing, computer systems, business analytics, databases, web development and software engineering. The course team also maintain a strong professional network - which helps them to offer students support as they look for work experience placements and graduate employment.
Students are able to select optional units in the third and second year of study. These units include: mobile app development, emerging web technologies, and advanced databases. Selecting optional units allows students to tailor their degree to an area they would like to progress into after graduation.

My name is Kavisha Prince Anthony, and I always had a dream of studying abroad. Thankfully, that dream came to life since I applied to the Study Advisor. I was able to receive my visa within four days. I also had some visa refusals in the past; I had about six UK visa refusals in the past, but thankfully, it was not an issue since the Study Advisor was able to make things work this time. I highly recommend Study Advisor for your dreams of going abroad, whether it be the UK or any other European country there is.
