SPECIALIST DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (SDHM)

The Specialist Diploma in Hospitality Management (SDHM)
course allows students to acquire knowledge in key subject areas that will
prepare them to take advantage of the diverse opportunities in the rapidly
growing sectors of tourism, hospitality and related businesses. It will also
provide students with the knowledge and understanding of the various activities
within the tourism and hospitality industries. Students will study and develop
skills related to front office operations, restaurant management, facilities
management including housekeeping, customer service and communications in the
English language.
Overview: The Foundation Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management (FTHM) course allows students to acquire knowledge in the key subject areas that will prepare them to take advantage of the diverse opportunities in the rapidly growing tourism, hospitality, and related businesses. It will also provide students with the understanding and knowledge of the various activities within the tourism and hospitality industry. Students will study and develop skills related to front office operations, restaurant management, facilities management including housekeeping, customer service, and communication in the English language.
Entry Requirements: At least C6 for any GCE O level subjects or 10 years of formal education or equivalent
Ages: Applicants have to be a minimum of 16 years old age.
Duration: 6+6 months (6 months of study and 6 months OJT with allowances Age 18+)
**The industrial Attachment will be a compulsory and integral module of the FTHM. in the event that a student is unable to participate theindustrial attachment module due to circumstances beyond the control of the student or the college, like non-approval of the
training Work Permit by the Ministry of Manpower, the student will be required to complete a Research-Based Project with the submission
of a report to be considered for graduation for the course.
For the students required to Quarantine under dedicated government facilities (Hotel), the prevailing quarantine
charges are to be paid to the government directly by the students. In addition, students are required to pay IPA/Student
Pass fees are $60 to $90 and two/three COVID’19 tests are approximately $350.
In the event of non-commencement by any approved students, the discount provided in the application processing fee will be collected from the agents.
