ABOUT THE COURSE

The Registered Nurse (degree) apprenticeship offers the latest technologies and education to enable you to develop your clinical, assessment and decision-making skills. If you have the qualities and philosophy required to become a caring, effective, professional and safe practitioner, this course gives you the opportunity to fully explore what it means to be a Registered Nurse and to further develop the other qualities essential to this role.

We currently offer the Registered Nurse (Adult) pathway aligned to the Institute for Apprenticeships standard. The standard covers four core domains:

• Professional values
• Leadership management and team-working
• Nursing practice and decision-making
• Communication and interpersonal skills

As a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)-approved programme, we encompass the four themes of their professional code into everything we deliver:

• Prioritising people
• Practice effectively
• Preserve safety
• Promote professionalism and trust

This apprenticeship is underpinned by our BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice. On successful completion of the programme you’ll be eligible to apply to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as an Adult Nurse.

FACILITIES

Nurse apprentices will have access to the same facilities offered to students on the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice degree, as well as other full-time students. This includes access to all specialist labs and equipment relevant to your course of study, including our new nursing simulation suite, as well as general facilities like our learning resource centres, student support services and 24-hour library.
