BSc(Hons)Midwifery
Our employer links, practical focus and the clinical experience offered means that 95% of our graduates are in work or further study six months after graduation.
Careers
Midwives are in demand across the UK and graduates enter careers in a wide variety of roles for the NHS and independent sector employers.
We have close links with our NHS partners, who are the main employers of midwifery graduates.
Once you've qualified, you can choose to progress into specialist areas, such as working with teenage mothers or women with drug or alcohol problems.
You could also become a specialist midwifery practitioner in areas such as infant feeding, management, lecturing or research.
Graduate midwives continue their professional development throughout their career, and there are many post-qualifying courses to support this.

Students on nursing or midwifery programmes are expected to engage in the full range of clinical duties whilst on placement, which constitutes half of the nursing or midwifery programmes. As a student on a professional nursing or midwifery programme you must be mindful of the requirement in the NMC code of Practice 2015, which states that registered nurses must maintain the level of health needed to carry out our professional role.
Offers of places are subject to occupational health clearance and students are expected to disclose pre-existing and historical health conditions. Students on professional programmes have to meet specific requirements related to the need to demonstrate certain knowledge, skills and competencies required by professional, statutory or regulatory bodies that cannot be compromised. In considering reasonable adjustments, these will be taken into account when agreeing what adjustments are possible.

My name is Kavisha Prince Anthony, and I always had a dream of studying abroad. Thankfully, that dream came to life since I applied to the Study Advisor. I was able to receive my visa within four days. I also had some visa refusals in the past; I had about six UK visa refusals in the past, but thankfully, it was not an issue since the Study Advisor was able to make things work this time. I highly recommend Study Advisor for your dreams of going abroad, whether it be the UK or any other European country there is.
