Our Accounting and Finance degree concentrates on the practical applications of accounting and finance theories, boosting your employability by developing you as a business-ready graduate.

• Work-based learning - from case studies, problem-solving to work placement opportunities - ensure graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet current and future market needs.
• Graduates will be eligible for exemption for some ACCA and AIA examination papers.
• Graduates of this programme are eligible for Associate (AFA) level membership.
• All our graduating students will also achieve a level 5 Diploma/Certificate in Leadership & Management from the Chartered Management Institute worth over £1,300 at no extra cost.

YEAR 1 (FOUNDATION YEAR)

 Students will be introduced to the basic concepts in finance, which will equip you for further studies. You will gain knowledge of the rules of numeracy in the business context and use methods to solve business problems. Through an introduction to business you will investigate the business functions of HR, Marketing and Accounting and Finance with an opportunity to explore the different elements of a business, including structures, and different types of ownership.

 Following completion of your foundation year, you will move onto the standard three-year programme. You will study core business and marketing modules which will enable you to focus on accounting and finance topics. You will study economics, financial and data analytics and an introduction to financial markets. In years two and three you will specialise in either accounting or finance and your module options will offer significant depth of expertise.

We will introduce business practitioners into your learning schedule who will provide an insight into the real-life situations and challenges they encounter in the business world. As you develop, your confidence and awareness will grow and you will leave us ready to enter into business life.
