Careers
There’s a significant skills gap in data science – both in the UK and overseas – and strong interest in employing data scientists and machine learning experts in almost all industries.
As a Data and Analytical Science graduate, you’ll have essential technical skills, and experience of addressing realistic data-science challenges through live briefs, coursework, and projects.
You’ll also have key transferable skills, such as team working, research and investigation, preparing documentation, giving presentations, and reporting on progress.
We work with employers to make sure you graduate with the knowledge and skills they need. They help us review what we teach and how we teach it – and they can offer hands-on, practical opportunities to learn through live briefs, work-based projects, and placements.
Our free Employability Service will help you take practical steps to follow your chosen career path, secure jobs, and work experience, or even start your own business.
Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You might decide to stay at ARU and study for a Masters. We’re planning a range of postgraduate degrees at ARU Peterborough, and there is a selection of existing courses in Cambridge and Chelmsford.
4 years with foundation
This year will prepare you for the rest of your course. We’ll focus on critical skills needed for degree study, such as researching and referencing, numeracy and ICT, and communication. But we’ll also start to look at the principles of computing and programming, app development, and key mathematical concepts that you’ll use in Year 2 and beyond.

My name is Kavisha Prince Anthony, and I always had a dream of studying abroad. Thankfully, that dream came to life since I applied to the Study Advisor. I was able to receive my visa within four days. I also had some visa refusals in the past; I had about six UK visa refusals in the past, but thankfully, it was not an issue since the Study Advisor was able to make things work this time. I highly recommend Study Advisor for your dreams of going abroad, whether it be the UK or any other European country there is.
